Howes Cups
The Howes Cups are awarded to the Winner of the Monday Championship Pairs (The Howes Championship).
About this trophy
The Cups were donated by Dr Alan and Mrs Majorie Howes in 1970. Dr and Mrs Howes established the Franklin Bridge Club in 1958. Dr Howes was in his 80’s when the Club celebrated its 50th birthday, and he spoke in great detail about the setting up of the Club and how Bridge has evolved in 50 years. They were prominent Bridge players attending tournaments throughout NZ and winners of the prestigious North Island Pairs. Dr Howes was President 1958, 1959 and 1960. Mrs Howes was President 1965, 1966, 1967, 1985 and 1986.
Miss Walker Tray
The Miss Walker Tray is awarded to the Winner of the Monday Championship Pairs. The Tray was donated by Miss A Walker in 1978. Miss Walker was President 1961 and 1962.
